Top Stories
One news feature about the African Blogsphere ended up in the Top Ten Most Read Stories of 2008 on journalism blog De Nieuwe Reporter. Read the story here. The story was subsequently published in four other media. The article Plight of the World’s ‘Invisible’ Children for the South African Mail & Guardian Online ended up in the Top Twenty of Most Read Stories 2005 .

Other articles, like the onesĀ  in MediaNews and AfricaNews, mostly concentrated on new media developments in Southern Africa because of Elvira’s close involvement with the Digital Citizen Indaba and Highway Africa Conference.

In 2008 Elvira published numerous articles online but also an academic article about newsroom integration in Southern Africa in the Rhodes Journalism Review. As from 2009 Elvira spends more time editing at for example the IFRA Expo and the CueBlog project. Elvira is now also trying to write a book about independent travelling in the Guyanas after exploring the countries for three months earlier this year. Writing is still her number one passion.
